Another microwave guide question

Hi all, I searched the forum for info and couldn’t find what I wanted to know. I’m building a 7ft casting rod on an MHx blank and got the microwave casting guides. The packaging has measurements from the tip, but I was wondering if the distance from reel to stripper guide matters like on their spinning microwave set up. I’m going to build out the grip this weekend and I’m not sure if I need to adjust any measurements depending on grip length. Re: Another microwave guide question

It does matter. When you have the rod fully flexed you don't want the line down on your forehand, if you in fact keep a hand in front of the reel. You certainly don't want the line down on the black between the reel and butt guide. Other than that you're probably going to find that the spacing given will be mostly fine unless you're doing something very unusual with your handle length.

Hello Daren,
I have found the sweet spot on most rods to be 18-22" from the reel face... It is not as critical as the spinning system. _______________________________ God Bless, Don Morse 800-516-1750 ext. 1207 / don@americantackle.us Rod Building..... It's What We Do.
