Picked up a couple old new old stock Loomis fly rod blanks both 7-1/2' in a lot from an estate @#$%&. Only ID besides his note of Loomis length and line wt is a yellow band on bottom. One reads 84 and the other 87. Any info on these?

G. Loomis blanks never came with a yellow band on the butt. Be sure of what you have. The numbers could only note length, but Loomis never made any 87 inch length rod blanks. 78, 84 and 90, but not 87. And these would have been accompanied by a power number after the length number, plus a model number prior to the length number.

Don't mean nothing to me, 84 and 87 would be length on Lomis blanks, the in house numbering system they used to build rods and catalog blanks was 6 digits long if I remember right was on a sticker on the butt. I have some of the old in house catalog to blank number paperwork somewhere I think, but I'd have to find it.
