hi Roger..i don,t think those two little dabs of epoxy can even hold the weight of the reel..the reel seat will just spin..maybe someone reading this has used them.

Roger how hard do you think it would be to use paste epoxy? This looks like a great way to mount reel seats but I just this morning ordered more pro paste.

hi Paul..to me it looks like the epoxy needs to flow in order to fill the gap between the rod and the reelseat..when the epoxy sets it becomes th arbor..i would only use it for rods with large butts to minimize epoxy use not on small diameter rods such as Mo builds..it is a good idea..no more 5 wraps or less tape arbors..

actually, if you think about it for a minute, you can do the same thing to dam up the epoxy and center the rod with two half inch pieces of flex coat urethane arbor..

Ben I was afraid of that. I'm always looking for better ways to attach the reel seat.

hi Paul..i know the feeling, we are always looking for something better..but for now i have settled on a tennesee type handle for UL and light spinning..i,m using a 6" to 8" tapered EVA grip that i have flocked..the slight taper cocks the reel spool up a little and the flock solves the problem of the tape glue separating from the tape backing when removing the reel so much so that i can reuse the tape several times..i use the thick reenforced Gorilla tape just one wrap per leg..it doesn,t let the reel even budge..so there really is no reelseat just the handle and a very light set up..it works till i find something better..lol.
