I am looking for input in finding a blank to replace my favorite of all time Glass cranking rod. It is a Lamiglas SR705R Glass rod. I tried many others and am looking for something just like this. LAMIGLASS no loner offers it. Thanks in advance. Mike Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/06/2019 07:31AM by Mike Brill. Re: Skeet Reese LAMIGLASS SR705R replacement blank

Are you sure? Mudhole lists it still, MB84-1E-H. I still have that blank in S glass and with the graphite overwrapped butt. Both are 5/8 oz. lighter. Re: Skeet Reese LAMIGLASS SR705R replacement blank

The s glass blanks were discontinued in 2003-4 time frame they were the SMB84 1. The CMB84 1 was an e glass blank initially, but when it came to installing the next flag, it was graphite instead of more e glass. It looks like they used the same mandrel, the thickness of the material in the butt is much reduced. I still have 1 or 2 of each I haven't used.
They made saltwater blanks of many kinds this way, the HCCB blanks used in the striper bass trolling rods they make today are this way, the transitions are all visible, honey glass tip, grey mid thru the butt.
