Lance, I'm almost afraid to ask, were you able to solve your thread residue issue without destroying the wrap?

Yes, I was Lynn. The denatured alcohol did not affect the parts of the decal that were left exposed. I also used water and a small amount of dish soap to clean up and there was no residue of the thread left. I sanded down the high parts of the epoxy to an acceptable level with 100 grit and used water to clean off the dust. I re-applied the epoxy and it leveled fairly flat and did not run off in any area. After it hardened, I put on the top wrap and sacrificial thread (this time with a non-coated wrapping thread) and applied the cover epoxy. After hardening I put trim rings at each end of the tiger wrap and applied another layer of epoxy that I put on fairly thick and moved it around to level off. That last coat was thick enough that I did not have to go over the trim rings again and the set epoxy was nice and level. It really came out good and the extra epoxy coat before the top wrap made the tiger have a greater 3-D effect. Are we allowed to put links in to Facebook sites?

Excellent! Have seen other links posted, but they may have been sponsors. Ask Tom. I'd like to see it .

Here are a few rods of mine. The latest one is the first post. I am not selling these online and the only way you would be able to get one is if you know me where I live. I do use components from the sponsors on the left. [www.facebook.com]
