All my surf rods have been 70/30 splits from St. Croix and they have been outstanding, however i decided to purchase some surf blanks from CTS and the ones i had interest in were 50/50 splits and i was concerned how they would feel , fish and cast .

After very extensive testing in a variety of conditions i have found them to be truly outstanding as well and i honestly could not find any negatives . I was delighted to find that Stephen Pratt & the CTS team have some of the most precise & top notch ferruling to be found on any rod at any price and they're without question the straightest blanks i have ever encountered even in the most extreme lengths .

I should say that not all rod companies can match the quality and consistency of the ferruling of the above mentioned ones at least in my experience.

Forgot to mention no ferrule wraps are necessary on the CTS blanks which is a huge plus , the CTS team assured me that adding a ferrule wrap would just add unnecessary weight and after extensive testing they were right .
