Weaves

I've been building rods for years, but have never attempted a "weave". I've seen several of Doc Ski's videos and it's amazing to see what the man can do with thread. My question is concerning computer software and if it is worth purchasing. One is the "Pic 2 Weave" and I'm sure there are others. My main computer is an HP with windows 10. Any suggestions? Are the programs easy to follow or does it take an engineer to figure it out? Thanks in advance.

just buy a copy of Billy Verona" s book on weaving and you have all the info you will ever need aside from the looms.
It will be the best 50 bucks you ever spent

Billy's book is on decwraps (crosswraps) not weaving. Best Book on weaving to buy is by Jim Upton 'A Guide To Thread Weaving For The Custom Rod Builder'. I don't use weaving software programmes, but i know '@#$%&' is brillant as im sure 'Visual weave' is too.

Dave pioneered weaving software. HIs program is highly recommended. He will also be appearing at the upcoming Expo in February.

Jim's book is the bible on thread weaving.

Ok I’m confused. Are we talking weaving or decorative wraps here. Thread went both ways.

Fred. I was referring to weaves, not butt wraps. I really appreciate the feedback from everyone. I'll definitely be purchasing the book by Jim Upton, 'A Guide To Thread Weaving For The Custom Rod Builder'. I've already got it in my "wish list". Thank you Steve for the suggestion.
