I am trying to find a blank for heavier swim baits 8-12 oz , casting, braid 50-80 lb. I have not been able to find anything I like for casting baits over 6oz.

What qualities have been missing in the blanks you have examined so far?

Our new Revelation Saltwater / Musky series would handle that that heavy of a Swimbait perfectly, go with the REVM710XH (or 810XH) they’re rated for 6-12oz. Check out the specs at [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]

I just havnt found one that will handle 8-12 oz lures that is not heavy . Most are too heavy to be casting all day.

Casting that weight one-handed all day, which I assume you do, must be murder on the arm and shoulder. Saving an ounce or two in rod weight would bring some relief, but dropping the leveraged weight of a 12 oz. lure to 6 oz. would bring a lot more relief. Is the weight of the lure or the size of the lure the key to success?

How long a rod? Some of the same power 7 1/2 footers are near half the weight of a same power 9 ft.

Phil my shoulders will not handle it all day, the rod is for a friend thats addicted to swim baits. Unbelievable what he pays for some of his lures. He wants the rod around 8' and prefers a one piece rod. Bigger baits bigger fish at least thats what he says and he has caught some hawgs, several over 12lb.
