Tom,

I want to Thank You for introducing me to rod building. In 2001, I had a bunch of questions regarding rod building and you graciously sent me a copy of your Rod-Building Guide, which I still reference to this day. You even autographed it!

Your book inspired me to build a surf rod capable of casting large Krocadyle spoons long distances to hungry striped bass and bluefish in the Maryland surf. That rod was an All Star 1265-2 spinning rod (commonly known as the "Spanish Buster" rod) which I still use to this date.

As of today, I have built one rod over the Winter months for the last 16 years. Whether it be a fly, surf, jetty, or bass rod.

As I begin this Winter's project - a Lamiglass SI Steelhead rod, I look back at all the encouragent you provided me.

Thanks again for everything

Ron Beloff

First time post, long time follower. I too would like to give thanks to Tom for what you have done in the rod building community. I have learned far more than I would have imagined when I started building rods, mostly due to this forum, your book and magazine. Due to this passion I've acquired for rod building I've made this into a business. I have my plans set to be at the Expo and my hope is, at the very least, is to shake your hand and personally thank you.
