When Pro Kote first came out it was touted as the best for not yellowing with age and sun exposure. I'd like your opinion on its performance for staying clear, nothing more. thanks, Mick

All two part wrap epoxies will yellow...............some more than others. The yellowing is hard to notice on a thread wrap, with the exception it being on a white surface. The amount of exposure to UV determines how much they will yellow. In my experience the Thradmaster line seems to discolor the least. Others may have a different experience.

Some say that yellowing is the most important quality in rod finish. The fact is that all epoxies yellow over time. The number one thing that causes premature yellowing is finish that is not mixed thoroughly. This along with long exposure to the sun's UV rays cause yellowing finish. UV inhibitors can slow this yellowing but the inhibitors are themselves a yellow color, thus comes a balance in how much to add to make the finish resistant yet clear.

We focus our finishes on the balance between all qualities that are desirable: clarity, UV resistant, flexibility, adhesion, workability, open time, cure time, price, and made in the USA...

Thanks

I've been using it for several years. IMHO it yellows less than others I've used in the past.

Thomas, prefer it because it stays clear better than others?
