Good morning All,

I did a build for a friend but unfortunately he broke the tip on his last outing it is a Lamigals MF 908 9' 8 wt in a green color and I was wondering if anyone had one available so I can redo the tip to match all of the work on the butt section.

Thanks in advance guys!!!

Check first with Lamiglas, you may be able to get a replacement tip section.

Jeff,
Just buy another rod blank.

Then, cut about 3 feet off of the tip of your broken rod and then use calipers to figure how much to cut off of the new blank to be able to do an over the butt section with the new blank.

When, I do this sort of thing, I start with the section about 2 feet longer and then keep chopping until I get the blank down to the perfect fit. Using this method, the rod is going to get longer and you will not have to redo any of your butt work, but you might have to add an additional guide due to the extra length of the rod.

Good luck

Or, if this is a two piece rod, buy a new two piece rod and just use the tip section to put on the broken rod and move over the guides and tip top to the replacement tip section.

Good luck

Those G200 rods only had a one year warranty, and have been gone a long time.

Okay thanks Guys,

Has anyone ever done an inside the blank repair on a rod and if so was it a success or failure?

An outside sleeve repair is much more reliable.

Some do a combination of both, I have had good fortune with the inside method if the break is in the top 3rd of the tip section, below that I find you need more strength.
