Hey guys, so I'm currently collecting components to build 2 130# IGFA rods. Im going for the vintage theme, and currently I have 2 new Varmac RS6 with ferrules/collet, and the wood butts. I just bought because they're so rare but gosh they look beautiful, two sets of the Mildrum roller guides in all black single foot.
DROF #6 and then ROF #5-1, The tip the set came with is not suitable for a 130 blank (#12 tip which is 4mm ID). Would be nice to find one if not, worst case an AFTCO would have to suffice. My question is, will these single foot guides work well with this class rod build in the 130 range? Also any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please pardon if anything in here mentioned is ignorant as I am new at this. Re: Mildrum Roller Guides

From what I recall of them,no. They were best suited for 80# and maybe pushable with 100#. Your best bet is to find a set of Mildrum straddle leg roller guides on the bidding websites. They pop up,but it is very rare. That will keep the build more old school,as you seem to want. Then again,so will Aftco roller guides in chrome. If you are using a modern era blank, check out the offerings from Batson Enterprises, and others that sponsorthis site.
Post a few pics of your guide set to the photo pages here. You might get better feedback by doing so. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/29/2018 01:39PM by Chuck McIntyre. Re: Mildrum Roller Guides

I did upload some pictures recently I forgot about what and once I was done I couldn't even find it. How is it that the pictures work? I upload it with the questions I would need help with?
