Rod building show

Neal Hall, the president of the Custom Rod Builder's Guild, has asked me to remind everyone of the upcoming Conclave in January on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th. If you plan to attend it is important to start making your reservations now. The hotel which is hosting the event is offering special room rates for those who attend, but only until 12/01/01. I believe there are over 25 manufacturers and vendors of rod building related equipment and supplies already lined up to attend.

You can get more info from the Guild's website at @#$%&.

They would allow you to sign up right till they open the doors the first night but the hotel room rates are available only up till Dec.1 then they increase to the normal price. the conclave rates will remain the same

I don't think anyone that attends this event will come away disappointed. There will be a lot to see. Demonstrations, product displays, etc.

Those of you relatively new to the craft of rodbuilding (myself included) will have the opportunity to meet and pick the brains of the folks that have been crafting custom rods for decades and have perfected many of the techniques considered standard in rod building today.

Although he has some personal things coming up in his schedule that may keep him away, I sincerely hope that Mr. Kirkman will be able to attend. Tom Kirkman is a wealth of information, as everyone on this board knows, and his abscence at this event would be felt as a void.

With the help of a couple hundred folks, perhaps we can collectively convince him to adjust his schedule so that he may be able to come to Nashville in January. If we excercise appropriate diplomacy , perhaps we can also convince him to host a session or two. Sorry Tom, but I'm hoping to contribute to your e-mail burden.
