A guy near me builds on them and he says they're nice blanks, but he sells them so I don't know for sure. I'm looking to build a Czech nymph rod, too.

If interested - ask me about the CTS Affinity-X, 10'0" #3 or #4 as a great nymphing blank.
Also - it seems to be a well kept secret that I provide members of this site a discount on any CTS blank.

Nymphing rod are the rage here some time now (France).
They need (euro nymphing style not sight nymphing) to be a least 10’ and for light line (max #4 but better #2 or #3).
Trust me or not for this long and light line rod you get what you paid.
You can build very good rod up to 9’ with ‘cheap’ blank but once you hit the 10’ mark (and up) you get what you paid.
It’s a pain in the a.... but it is :-(

I tested a lot of blank, some are exotic for you, but yes the CTS (especially 10’ #3 and #2) are n the best (easiest choice for you in USA).
You can build one other blank (cheaper ones) but if yo.’re after fine tools, one you try a good 10’ for light line you’ll see what I mean.
