I ordered the above epoxy and the labels were red and black. I thought that flexcoat may have changed labeling and cap colors. I usually use the black and yellow labeled epoxy. To my surprise red and black was much thicker in viscosity than black and yellow and a shorter work time. Is there a way to lengthen the work time or increase the viscosity? Also, is putting an equal but small amount of the red/black epoxy accurate enough to cure properly aka quarter sized amount of each or do I need to use my syringes. I tried to a warm bath of water and the epoxy thickened as before. Re: Flexcoat rod builders epoxy

You do know the red/black capped epoxy is glue, and the yellow capped epoxy is finish? Re: Flexcoat rod builders epoxy

They are different for different applications. One for gluing or adhesion, the other for coating wraps. Re: Flexcoat rod builders epoxy

The Rod Builders Epoxy Glue (in the red and black label) is an adhesive epoxy for gluing cork, reel seats, EVA, etc... Here is a video on how to measure and mix our epoxy glues: [flexcoat.com] Our epoxy finishes for thread wraps, lures, and such are labeled in the black and yellow. Here is a video on how to measure and mix our finishes: [flexcoat.com] We have new labels, but we have stayed true to the colors that we have always used.
