Is there a blank like the old Lamiglas ET783 fly blank?

I've been searching for a while to find another Lamiglas ET783 fly blank. That's a high modulus (XMG) 3 piece, 3 weight 6' 6" fly blank. Can use 4 wt too.

The key for me is its light weight.

Anyone know of other blanks like that one? I would be much grateful for any help.

Thanks!
Mo

Mo,
being as the designs of both were mine I believe you will find the F663-3-MHX the closest available.

Todd

Todd 'Da Man' ,

Hey, surprised and GREAT to hear form you. Indeed, have the highest respect for your blank designs. This is oooold news now but when Mudhole hired you away from Lami, thought that was a substantive loss for Lami but also that Mudhold is getting serious about expansion.

Anyways, great to hear that your design lives on.

The only thing that the ET783 has is that it is of higher modulus or something as it is substantively lighter. But happy to know there's a back up to that design.

What's the possibility that yours can be made of the same stuff that the Native series is made of?

Thanks again Todd.

Mo

Mo,
you are correct in that there is a very slight difference in the modulus of the two blanks. The design is slightly different as well. Taper has a greater difference in the feel between the two. We have discussed the possibility of a native but I have been working on new Uni-directional S-Glass models as I feel that there is a void for some quality glass development in the market.

Todd

Mo,
The ET904 is a dandy too, if you find one.

Thanks Todd & Spencer. I think all the ET are really nice.

I've always thought the founder/CEO/owner of Lamiglass when they produced those blanks was a remarkable man with old school values in the absolute best sense of the word. Their products deserved more press than they received but I think that was Dick's style. Out of the limelight, private, but off the charts integrity.

As to S glass - yes, it is amazing how much some companies are charging for their S-glass blanks. perhaps you can provide some top rate S-glass at more reasonable prices. :(
