Split grip wrap question

So I mainly build swordfish rods, tuna rods, and you know, the big stuff. I’m about to build a spinning rod for a friend with a split grip. I want to do a chevron fade between split grips and also in front of the fore grip. When laying it out should I find center for each section or act as if it is one Long wrap and find center of the entire thing? I don’t know if I’m making it clear enough but if you get what I’m saying, I’d love some feedback. Nothing leaves my shop that isn’t perfect. Re: Split grip wrap question

Personally,I would mark my axis' at the same time and run from the area of the split grip and under the real seat through the desired length of the area in front of the foregrip. Then mark your centers for each wrap section based on the measurements. Particularly if there is a noticeable change in the tapers,or diameters for each one. Re: Split grip wrap question

Roger that, I have my axis’ marked all the way through. What you’re saying is treat each wrap as it’s own instead of using the same spacing for both of them? Re: Split grip wrap question

Correct. If the centers will be off even a few millimeters,i would do 2 separate wraps. Re: Split grip wrap question
