If it'll launch your boat that far imagine how far it would launch a frozen ball of bait.

Seriously, I know what you meant and I have built rods for that purpose. They don't need to be out of the ordinary but you must not do anything that would facilitate a line tangle nor add anything that such a tangle or loose line can around.

That wouldn't work for me , i would get sick of my bait landing 300 yards away and constantly reeling in 280 yards of line to get it to where i catch 95% of all my fish which is usually no more than 20 yards from shore.

Wouldn't the fish location be location dependent and on which stretch of Ocean you are fishing?
