I'd like to cut about an 1" or 2" off of a 10" EVA grip. I have an ALPs power wrapper, and was wondering if there were any tricks/tools for keeping the cut clean and square.

Spin it up fast and apply a size D thread to where you want it cut. Cuts like soft butter.

Cutting 1" or 2" off a 10" grip is no problem with size D thread, For Safety reason I would hold the thread between my fingers and not wrap the thread around them,

I sometimes use a piece of thread tied between two pieces of wood used as handles so I don't get fingers cut holding the thread if it gets wrapped.

Now if you looking for something accurate, square and safe, there is a tool called the William Marchisella EVA Cutting tool that takes the worry out cutting EVA.

Another line that works very very well are any of the super braided fishing line in 20 lb test or more.

If you do this job, do not hold the line on your fingers.

Rather put a loop in each end of the line and then hold the line by inserting dowels into the loop and hold the dowels.

If the line happens to catch on something you want to lose a dowel, not your finger.

been doing this for years.......snug eva down on blank scrap, spin in rod wrapper and use x-acto knife to cut. (USE BLANK SCRAP!!!!)
