Gents, 50 years or so ago I was eliminated from my one and only spelling bee competition. My first word was groceries. Pressure was on. I went with g-r-o-c-e-r-y-s. I was politely asked to return to my classroom. I never forget that word and was reminded of it every time I wrote a check at the store and filled in the memo blank with the word "groceries". Well today I was finishing up my final epoxy coat on a Batson Immortal P70M. I didn't have a label so I wrote my own w/ a toothpick and some Testors paint writing in my best handwriting. I went with..... I-M-M-O-R-A-T-A-L. I looked at it. It looked OK. So I epoxied it over and set it to dry. About an hour later I looked again - yikes! Now I have a layer of epoxy over Testors paint which is on a coat of epoxy on the silver Batson blank. Any suggestions on how to start over on this, removing the epoxy and the paint. I've got some blanks that I've practiced lettering on so I can test some options. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Use a bit of heat to soften the epoxy and use a finger nail or credit card or craft stick to scrape off the epoxy and then use some Xylene to remove the testors paint. Scuff with scotch bright and start over.

The other option is to just leave it alone and not mention it.

I would not recommend Xylene to remove the Testors. As it may remove the paint on the blank also.
If you use a solvent try it someplace you can cover if it takes off the paint. It is possibe you may be able to get it off by scraping it with a finger nail

Wrap over the area with a complimentary dark thread and start over.
