keith,
Power wrappers really don't wear out other than some easily replaceable parts from time to time. You can reach your own conclusion by looking at comparable new power wrappers of comparable design on the market today. Good luck Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

The Clemen's lathe was built by Renzetti a sponsor to the left, check out the new prices and make your own decision, the Clemen's is probably 20 years old, or better. Unless it has a bunch of accessories, it sounds steep to me. Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

It has the standard thread carriage, and another flat looking large spool holder, 4 supports with a bunch of extra wheels, new orings, and a head stock thingbi guess to turn cork.
I really appreciate the input. It has zero bids and starting his own I think $500. Maybe I'll mske a bid and see how that goes. Thank you so much to all who responded. Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

The only place where there is Florida corrosion is on the steel chuck, and the steel tail stock.
This will easily clean up with rust remover and a wire brush. So, that is a non event. [www.familyhandyman.com] Phosphoric Acid makes the rust removal trivial. The other parts are aluminum and do not rust. Your choice. Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

I have a Clemens rod lathe and I love it. Bought it 35 years ago and it still looks like the day I bought it, but if I was looking to buy a rod lathe I would buy a new one. I think I would take a look at the new lathe mudhole is selling, they are going to have a Facebook live demo on it Tuesday night. Check it out. Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

doesn't have a drive motor or motor mount and is not real good condition you will have to work on it to make it work first.
IMHO you would be better off if you purchased a newer model from Renzetti as any of the up grades will definitely fit The best day to be alive is always tomorrow !! Think out side the box when all else fails !!! Wi. Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

Matthew,
Actually, the drive motor is there mounted on the headstock behind the headstock with the drive belt attached. Re: Price info on Dale Clemens wrapper

I agree with Michael, I have had my Clemens wrapper/ lathe since 1981, only had to replace the motor, and upgrade the thread carriage and rod supports. Adding additional sections is a big plus.

During the early 2000's, Renzetti had new, slightly wider bed and base extrusions made so the early Renzetti and Clemens lathes may be hard to find bed sections for. This may or may no be an issue depending on what your needs are.

It has 8' bed so unless you're wrapping 1 piece rods you'll be fine. Only thing is see missing is the thread tensioner. Some like using the tensioner, some don't. I do, but you can order one or two from Renzetti. The Clemens will be alive long after we are gone. I have one 30 year old Clemens and 2 older model Renzetti's that I bought long ago as back ups but they have never been used. Only problem I ever had was the rollers on the 8-spool carriage broke. Easily remedied. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
