Hi all a few years back I built my friends some Batson sws70m rods to fish for porgy out in montauk. Since then they have all broke. I think this was due to them trying to cast heavier sinkers then the blank was rated for. It always seems that when a rod breaks it’s always on the biggest fish of lifetime never because someone did anything wrong. Anyway I am now looking to build these guys some rods and the Batson sws70mh looks really good a slightly beefier version of the same blank. They will use upto 10ounces to hold bottom but usually 6-8 ounces is the norm. Occasionally when party boat fishing it is required to flip the sinker a little father from the boat so as not to get tangled up. I don’t know if that’s considered casting or not. I wouldn’t think so but what do I know.
Any thoughts? Re: Batson sws70mh

Oh and also does anyone know for sure if these are all graphite or composite? I have seen these blanks listed as graphite in one place and composite in another. Thanks again Re: Batson sws70mh

They're composite blanks and there is a bunch of info on this site about the blank. Just put the model number in the search function. Re: Batson sws70mh
