Black and red tiger wrap

Hey everyone,
I know this seems to be a reoccurring topic but I'm having trouble just getting a black and red tiger wrap. Could you guys let me know what color combinations worked best for you to get a nice red and black mixed together wrap?

Appreciate the help,

If it were my rod, I would probably go with red and black underneath with black over top. You should have enough contrast in the red and black for the base, and the black over top will keep the wrap from becoming 'too red.'

My first ever tiger wrap was scarlet and gray under with gray on top: [www.rodbuilding.org]

Replace the gray with black, and I think it would still come out quite nice.

Most likely I'd try black and white under, red over.

the few I have done it seems that white or light silver gray or any bright contrasting color along with black is the key thing giving the proper base to achieve a good tiger pattern, I could be wrong but finished ones done that way look good the others not so much

I've done red over red/black, and black over red/black. Both produce a subtle holo effect. Nice, if you don't want something flashy.

Black over red/silver, and red over black/silver were both nice, but not at all subtle.

Red over black/gold was maybe my favorite. Haven't tried black over red/gold.

Thank's for the help!
I'll be trying the red/black bottom with black over top. I don't need anything to flashy, just a nice looking pattern.

Here is what I came up with...
I used red and black bottom wrap and a black wrap on top.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Was curious... I thought about putting the decal under the second wrap. I did a test run with it and liked it but I decided against it as the rod isn't for me. Has anyone ever put the decal under the second wrap? kind of gives it a faded image...
