I ordered my surfrod for a new build on Monday from Anglers Workshop, chose second day air and it came on Wednesday. I chose UPS second day air and paid the extra because lately, USPS is blowing it pretty bad. I have had countless orders delayed damaged and one lost order. Didn't want to chance this one. I paid with paypal and although I made an account and was signed in when I made the order, it did not show up on my account, nor did I get a conformation email. I emailed them and told them what I had done and asked if they could add that order to my account, five minutes later, it was all there with tracking and an email stating all was there. So heads up if you use paypal to check out, no biggy though. There price on the surfrod (I got the 11' medium) [www.anglersworkshop.com] was at least 23% less than every site I could find it, and it was in stock. Although they did not have every bling add on that some of the other sites had, they had what I needed. The items were also well packed in a very sturdy box. I also heeded y'alls advice about ordering from the companies that sponsor this site. So, in all it was a very positive experience.

Okay everybody - all this stuff about how great this vendor or that one is, how much better one is than another, is not the point of this forum. These past few days we're starting to go down a road I don't want to go down.

I pretty much still do them the same way. I have poured some in pans and then used a bandsaw to cut them into turning squares, but that's really just up to the user.

I picked this one PBX2GSU110M2 if you click on the link in my initial post it will take you there, sort of. I really wanted a slow action two piece spiral glass rod but it seems as those are are not made any longer. Just finding a medium action is worth celebrating. I am building this for my daughter, I'm sure she will get a little more distance out of it so it will be good for her. I put a split handle, the reel seat and the fore grip on yesterday. Went really well.
