Fuji DPS LB SD Boat Reel Seat (Ferruled)

I have a question about the reel seat with in the subject line. I know that it says it’s a ‘boat seat’ which I assume means it can take some abuse. My question is, will it hold up to the stress of Musky fishing and throwing 8-10 oz baits from sunup to sundown on a daily basis? The only part I’m worried about is the ferrule nut.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

My guess is that it will handle that easily.

I agree with Tom and Matthew , Fuji graphite seats are as tough as they come and will easily handle what you're doing . Throwing 8 - 10 oz baits from sunup to sundown huh , what a life , you can't get better than that .

Thanks for the quick response guys! I know the Fuji seats are tough, it’s the ferrule system that concerns me. I’m going to give it a shot and I’ll let you know if there’s any trouble.

Thanks again,

Jeremy

Jeremy , the durability of the ferruling is the most impressive part about the Fuji graphite seats , the longevity of them after many many years of removing reels and attaching them is truly impressive , they stay rock solid with no slop .

I have a few rods built with the Ferruled Fuji seat, and I cant' use any of them because the rod bends right in the seat. I used them on GUSA blanks, 2 Monsters 30-60# and an SW70HF 25-50#. Since the blanks are stronger than the ferrule, the seat bends before the butt of the blank. 3 travel rods, with a lot of artwork in them, made them for travelling to the Tortugas and shipping shorter rods would be cheaper. UNfortuantely the rods are showpieces and unusable due to the ferruled seat

Thanks for the feedback Billy. I was afraid of that happening with throwing some of the big baits that musky fishermen use and the stress of setting the hook on a 30lb + fish.
