Color is black. Just need to know where to get one from without paying 10 bucks for shipping. I live in Maryland and can go pick it up.

Order more than just one guide, shipping won't increase that much if any.

John,
Order from Mudhole and ask to speak to shipping. Normally with a single guide like you ask; mudhole will put the guide in an envelope and charge you the 50 cents for the shipping.

This low cost of shipment will be done by most of the sponsors on the left for a tiny order as you mention.

Good luck

By far the fastest shipping i have experienced is by "The Rod Room" girls but shipping starting at $8.95 only drops to $6.95 for small items . Mudhole in my experience takes a long time to ship , NEVER on the day you order unlike the Rod Room who ships really really fast . They very rarely even ship on the day after your order and its typical to wait 3 to 4 days before you get a tracking number.

Anglers Workshop ships fast and discounts shipping and Get Bit is unpredictable , my last two orders from Get Bit took an average of 4 days to ship but my last order went out next day and they will also discount the shipping price for small orders.

Roger. A size 50 guide won’t fit in an envelope and there’s no way they’ll charge 50 cents to ship it. It’s not possible for any distributor to do that.

Lance,
Actually the guide will fit into an envelope, if the envelope is large enough. If the envelope is padded well enough, it will ship safely.

Yes, it is possible for distributors to ship for 50 cents if they choose to do that. (They will lose money on the shipping, but it is possible that they will do the "free" shipping for some clients.)

Good luck

Wish they would do that for me , iv'e asked Mudhole to help me out with a tiny item for a cheaper shipping price and "No can do " was their answer lol.

I’m fairly certain that size 50 guide would be destroyed if shipped in an envelope.

I'm just going to toss this out there for future consideration in general for everbody - the beauty of building a buying relationship with just a dealer or two is that when you're in a pinch for something, they may well help you out with things like small orders and reduced shipping charges.

If you're the kind of buyer who skips around, always going with whoever happens to have the lowest price, on a given item on a given day, you're not likely to get any special consideration from any dealer. There's not much motivation for a dealer to go out of their way for a buyer who only uses them in a pinch, and may never buy from them again.

Yes a guide will fit in an envelope. In reality it likely won’t get to its destination. An object with two long pointed prongs on each end will tear up an envelope. Period. It can’t go through a sorting machine. As for the 50 cent comment. In a large envelope that guide will cost much more than 50 cents. How about including the prince of the envelope. They don’t pick envelopes off of trees. They’re not free. They actually cost more than 50 cents. So your comment about asking a dealer to ship that large guide for 50 cents won’t fly with any distributor, no matter how big or small of a company they are. That’s the reality of it.

I use to work for the airlines, I would not want that in an envelope. I really appreciate the suggestions, and I might call Mudhole and see if they can hook it up. I will also check out Utmost and The Rod Room. Anglers Workshop doesn't show them on there website or I already would have ordered them. I need some lure eyes!
