Dear All,
We are working very hard to expand our product portfolio - but if you are looking for an American made performance blank that start from $45, check out our Delta series: [northforkcomposites.com] Unsanded, using material blends, very light, very very tough. P.S. We also wont tell you that we put unicorn horn in the pre-preg, but there is a reason why our blanks are on average 30-40% lighter. ;) Re: American Made performance blanks

What does "American made" mean? American-made graphite fibers, American woven graphite cloth, American rolled rod blanks, or some combination of these? Re: American Made performance blanks

Phil,
Very good question. There are two fiber manufacturers left in the US, Hexcel and AGY, and we use both of them. There are fiber types that are only made in Japan by Toho, Mitsubishi, or Toray. Of those three, we use the fiber of Toray, it is then pre-pregged in Tacoma, WA. (for certain applications) We see a lot of discussion about modulus and fiber, and there are drawbacks and benefits of using specific fiber (and modulus) equally as important is the resin content of the pre-preg, the resin type, the material layup, the ramp cycles of the autoclave, and the manufacturing process. Some of the fiber we use is American made, some is imported out of Japan and pre-pregged here, and the blanks are rolled in our factory. Best Regards, Alex Re: American Made performance blanks
