Berkley series one

Hey everyone,
I don't know if anyone can help me or not, but I'lll take a shot. I want to build a jigging rod for my dad, but I want to find a blank of his favorite rod. Here is where I need help. His old rod is a 6'0" Graphite spinning Berkley Series 1 rod from the early '80s. I don't know much more because most of the info has worn off. I have not found much info on Berkley rods, like who and where the blanks are made. Where or if I can even get my hands on one that old. Any info on early '80s Berkley series one rods would be appreciated.

They were off shore built rods that had what we thought were pretty odd looking reel seats, now similar stuff is all over the place. IM6 grahite blanks with higher end components, all the ones I've owned, or used had SiC guides on them. Good stuff even now, were designed to compete with the best out there at the time.

Brandon,
In the Batson - Rainshadow line of blanks:

The SB 721, or the SB 722 would be very comparable to the rod that you mention. Also, these blanks are pretty inexpensive as well.

Good luck
