Hey guys looking for a rod to do some multi purpose work, for rattle trap, spinnerbaits and 1/4 ounce Keitech swimbaits. Anyone have experience with this blank Bushido Spinner Bait Rod Blank SB69/10-15. Going to be built as a casting rod

That is a great blank but I think you would be happier with the MB68/10-17 ... not as fast and more range of lures types

Jay I was coming on here to ask the same question about a good blank to use for spinnerbaits. I just bought a couple of bushido blanks for a different application and I love them. I was thinking about trying the phenix blanks out , I heard they are pretty nice blanks.

Would a 6'8 Blank Don be sufficient for casting distance and hook setting on long casts. Was a little hesitant on a 6'9, so going shorter raises some concern, but u know the blank.

Since this is on the same subject of a spinnerbait (3/8 oz) rod blank, would anyone recommend a 7' to 7'-8" blank?
Edit: I was thinking of using the Elliot E-C73MH-F blank.

On the topic of rod length ..... I guess it depends on how long of a cast you want to make. I have two spinnerbait rods. One is 5'6", the other 6'6". They are long enough to make any cast I would want to make with a spinnerbait.

Like David said, a spinnerbait isn't the most aerodynamic of baits and you just as likely to have to cast close in, or to a spot on the spot using a variety of casts, as to have to cast long distances. The longer rods for me anyway, are best used for carolina rigs, etc. Another thought comes to mind, how far off the water are you while fishing? Getting under cover to that spot on a spot sometimes demands you cast with your rod tip pointing down near the water, a longer rod may strike the water in that situation or your lure may do the same.
