I am building my first fly rod which is a 4pc. 7wt. graphite rod. When I laid out the kit I noticed there were no ferrules included in the components. Can anyone advise me if ferrules are needed in this build. I looked at 3 of my rods from major manufacturers and I didn't seem they had ferrules. Any information would be appreciated. Re: ferrules

The ferrules are integral to the rod. The pieces fit over each other.

If you are talking about metal ferrules, they are not used on any modern fly rods. What you most probably have is a tip over butt ferrule, where the tip section fits over the butt section. Each section is made individually and designed so one section fit over the other. Just take your fly rod sections and piece them together.
