Flexilite and Comparable

Hello fellow builders. I am super bummed to find out today that my flexilite guides that were supposed to ship on 12/5 are now backordered till February. I have 12 ice rods i need to finish before Christmas and need to find an alternative. I have been reading that the Pac Bay minima's may be a great option. With that being said, I'm having a hard time figuring out which "series" would be comparable in height and length to the flexilite/REC. I ordered a few of the sv guides and they are too short, as in they don't stick up above the blank enough. Would the match guides or ZV guides be closer? Looking to keep ring size comparable to the flexilite size 10 as well.

Does anyone have any size 10 flexilite chromes they would want to sell me or know where I could find some? Seems silly that they are always backordered during the busy season! Hopefully they can step up their production because obviously there is a high demand for them!

Thanks in advance!

A #10 minima match guide is probably comparable and is what many builders use. Utmost is a good source and very reasonable for shipping.

Download the Pac Bay catalog. They list the dimensions for guide heights - a great resource for planning your guide layout.

Brandon,
If building a spinning version of an ice rod, I use a match guide for the first stripper tip and then go down to the sv guides for the balance of the guides. Inexpensive and work well.

Good luck
