To all of you who have already placed your orders for the Unified Wheel they are now in stock and will begin shipping on Monday. These are the wheels that Tom Kirkman has written about here on the board and also in his RodMaker magazine. I have seen this wheel and it is awfully close to what I have used for many years. This one is a tad bit harder and larger in diameter. It should last longer. Someone mentioned the 3M variety. I did go to their website to see if I could match one up. No luck. I am sure they make one that is also close if not dead on but after 30 minutes of trying to navigate their huge site and looking through the thousands of varieties of wheels and abrasives I just gave up. Sorry. Just for those of you who did not read the article - these wheels are not for shaping, but rather for deburring and polishing guide feet that have been shaped on a grinding wheel, sanding disc, etc. They accomplish the task in mere seconds and will not remove material to any real degree. ................. I checked with an automotive paint supplier and they have the pads but not the wheels. But 3M does make something like what you are talking about. You might have to ask their automotive refinishing department. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
