Hey Guys,

I am trying to make some custom turned spinning seats and I am looking for the piece that glues on to the top of the seat?(Not sure what the technical term is) I see I can buy the nut piece just about anywhere but not the top part.

Are you going to be doing anything more than making the center section of a reel seat? If so, you just need to purchase a skeletal reel seat for the rest of the seat:

Here is a skeletal reel seat: I have built many rods using this seat with a turned center section that fits between the hood and the threaded portion of the reel seat:

An example of a skeletal reel seat with a turned wood center section. Normally the ends of the turned section are sized to fit inside the hood section for very good seat stability:

you can also just buy a regular reel seat and cut the reel foot section out and add your insert .
