I'm attempting to replace a discontinued blank.
Has anyone measured the ERN and AA of S842-2-MHX. ?
I'm looking for a fast blank with an ERN of 7.5-8.5

Thanks,
Gene

The Batson IP/XP 840 were in that power range, think the St Croix 70UL blanks also, but on the low side. Most of the info I now have is on discontinued blanks, sorry.

S842-2-MHx ERN: 9.8 AA: 75
My "customers" use them for trout in lakes up to 7lbs.

Thanks, gentlemen
This appeared a promising candidate but the ERN is too high for a replacement.
Still require a 7 to 8 foot rod with an ERN of 7.5 to 8.5.
Per Spencer's suggestion I'll expand my search to Batson.
The goal is for an 8 weight fly rod for fishing light tippet in windy conditions.

Thanks again
Gene

A fly rod with an AA of 75 and extremely fast recovery will disappoint most fly casters. Making it a short 7' rod doesn't help either.
Good luck in your search.

Rick,
Adding a 280 grain line I believe will slow the response to acceptable casting levels.
I don't know about the printed claim of casting 1/6 ounce however.
How much weight are you casting ?

My notes show this blank rated 1/16 oz to 5/16 oz. 280 grains is 0.6 oz (equivalent to a 10wt line).
I can't predict how it would behave, though I agree it will slow down the CCF.
