Specifically a 4wt. 8'6" moderate action fly blank. There are hardly any reviews or views about NFC fly blanks available online. Has Gary done a good job and can his product face up to Sage, Winston et al, or is it not quite in the same league? Besides, is there any general rule about NFC fly blanks, like: they are all top of the line, or close, or are they more like mid-market? The price says: mid-market, but with Gary Loomis you never know ...
In Poland NFC fly blanks (as opposed to bass and S&S blanks, which our distributor stocks regularly) are only available on order. Help please. Re: NFC fly blank

I've built out a few NFC fly blanks for customers and I did own a 905-4 myself at one time. Yes, the blanks are high quality, but my opinion was that they are a bit stiff for my taste, even the ones labeled "moderate".
The 905-4 I built out for myself, I found I had to over line it with a DT6 to get the feel I was looking for. The one you mention, 864-4 moderate, I have built out one of those and I did lawn cast it before sending it out, it wasn't to bad, but not a moderate blank in my opinion, it really needed the 4wt lines that are a half heavier than a somewhat standard WF 4 to get the feel I would look for if I was going to own and fish it. It was very accurate and it would develop very high line speeds. Yes, their quality is up on par with any USA made high end blank, but at the end of the day, CTS is my choice for a Carbon Fiber blank. If your looking for a Moderate blank, the Vintage or Affinity N is my choice. Re: NFC fly blank

Not sure how "stiff" and "moderate" correlate. One is power and one is action.

I only build fly rods, and I have built a number of NFC. They are top quality, that tend to be on the fast side of their ratings. Re: NFC fly blank

I've fished a few of the factory rods, they are nice rods, but not near one of my favorites, but not many of my favorites are available as blanks any longer. If your looking for info on the internet, the factory Edge rods are built at the NFC factory, might find something there.
9/25: Got to cast a very nice Thomas & Thomas Aeros 4 power this weekend, very nice rod, much closer to what you want as far as action and fishability over a wide range of distances and conditions than the NFC I tried, and you can buy the blank.
