Fenwick Blank ID

Hey Guys,

I have a few old fenwick blanks, new in wrappers, but the model numbers have faded from the tags and there is no info stamped on the blanks. They are both chestnut.

8', 1" butt, 5.5 tip - thinking LB965 or 966?

10' 1" butt, 6.5 tip - thinking LB1205 or may be a surf blank.

Appreciate any help. Thanks guys.

Are the blanks one or two piece?

I would have to dig out old Fenwick catalogs and look through them. I have a few but can't get around to it until sometime next week.

Sorry took so long. This is what I dug out from my Fenwick Catalogs.

1978 Catalog:
LB966 - X-Fast Action - Med. Heavy Power - 1-3oz lure weight - .930 Butt - 8 tip - 9 1/4oz weight
LB967 - X-Fast Action - Medium Power - 1/2-2oz lure weight - .970 Butt - 8 tip - 16oz weight
LB1206 - X-Fast - Med. heavy - 1-3oz lure - 1.085 butt - 8 tip - 16 1/4oz weight

1979 Catalog:
LB966 - Fast - Medium - 1-2oz lure - .900 butt - 8 tip - 7 7/8oz weight
LB967 - X-Fast - Med. Heavy - 1-4oz lure - 1" butt - 7 1/2 tip - 12 7/8oz weight-*
LB1208 - Fast - Med. Heavy - 1-3oz lure - 1.060 butt - 6 1/2 tip - 12 3/4oz weight

1981, 1982 Catalog:
Same specs but no LB967

1983 Catalog:
LB966 - Same specs but blank weight now 8oz.
LB1206 - Blank number changed and tip size now an 8. Blank now 12 1/2oz weight. All other specs remain the same.

1984 Catalog:
No 8' blanks in brown.
LB1206 - Butt size now 1.055 - tip size 8 - 12 3/4oz weight. All other specs remain the same.

1985, 1986 Catalog:
Still no 8' blanks in brown.
LB1206 specs remain the same.

1987 Catalog:
No LB Brown Models Offered

1988 Catalog:
The return of the LB1206. The 8' LB Blanks are offered in Gold Only.

1990 Catalog:
No 8' Blanks offered in Brown Fenglass. 8' blanks are E-glass (gold).
Only the LB1206 is offered in Brown Fenglass

For 1991 I don't have a blank catalog. I have a Product Index but nothing of those lengths show up in the Salt Water Section. Hope this was of some help and sheds some insight into the later history of the LB line of blanks.

Thank you Mark!

The 10' must be an LB 1206. I have a yellow LB 1206 and it is very similar.

Still not positive what the brown 8' blanks would be. These seem a bit faster action than most LB blanks.
