CTS Rod recommendation

Hey guys, I'm looking forward to building my first CTS rod soon. I'm looking at either the Affinity M or Affinity X for throwing streamers and poppers for smallmouth bass. Typically I like to try casting a rod, but since that's probably not going to happen, does anyone have a recommendation or know of productions rods I could cast to get a feel for which one would fit my casting better? Thanks for the help!

I don't have any rods right now to get it done. I just have some 5wt. and lower rods for trout.

Hey Josh,
I am the U.S. Distributer for CTS.
I can get you whatever you want.
Send me an email describing size of flys. I'm thinking a #6 to a #8 depending on wind and fly size.
Regards,
Herb

I have a decent amount of experience with both of those CTS models. Built and fished each one in several different line weights, plus a gang of them for customers.

I don't think you would be unhappy with any of the 3 models, M, MX or X. Its just going to depend what taper suits your casting style and what your target species of fish is going to be.

Thanks for the help Herb. I'll send you an email in the next few days.

Bill, now I'm curious after Herb's comment...
