PacBay (from their web page):
READY FORM GRIPS Step into the future of rod design with ReadyForm Rigid-Core Rod Grips. These ready to install grips feature a pre-shaped, rigid, urethane foam core covered with a thin layer of our soft finish coating. These grip shapes are also available as unfinished cores, giving the rod builder the option of appying carbon fiber, shrink tube, or a custom finish of their choice. DONART (sponsor to the left) may have them - or can get them Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/06/2016 08:32AM by Ken Preston. Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

Since he is so hard to get materials from - this would be a good thing for any one who can make even the un-shapped cores to do so We need some one else to carry them I am going to check out Pac Bay Bill - willierods.com Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

Keep in mind that with the MudHole grips, if you want to change the top coat on the grips you can. The PacBay models will have to be skinned, which also allows you to apply any top coat you want, from matte, to gloss to smooth or slightly "rough."

That is great -- but what if I want to shape my own raw cores or want a different color No one makes them I don't want to wait 6 mouths for an order from Riley
I don't have the room Bill - willierods.com Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

Does that 18 weigh more ?? Meaning the handle will be heaver on the rod With builders wanting light weight rods that is not good ?? Bill - willierods.com Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

Bill I can't put the links up here but you can get metallic flake to put on the bare foam cores like the one mentioned above followed by covering in a Carbon sleeve. Again I can't put that link up but there's plenty of options out there. I coated my bare Carbon grip with ETEX rather than rod building epoxy and am very happy with the result. Edited 1 time(s). I what I would like to know is how much does the 18LB weigh compared to the 4 - 6 LB That seems like a large difference Or how much compared to cork or eva
Then why go with 18LB Builders seem to like the 4 - 6 lb Bill - willierods.com Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

Obviously less once reamed and shaped to the proper size. Durability is the main reason and opens up usage for heavier applications as well. This is not the same foam core used in the Woven Carbon Fiber Grips. Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

So I would think the only thing to do is ( in the winter ) buy from riley and stock up since he seems to have the monopoly on these He seems to be the only one that carries it All Bill - willierods.com Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

I believe that Peter is looking for someone to make grips to his specs, and as you seem to be an expert on the subject perhaps you would be willing to throw your hat in the ring and make some grips for him? I would however be interested in working with the Batson cores to see what they are all about before I would make a snap judgement as Mr Boettcher has. Every thing I have gotten from the Batson Brand has been well thought out and of high quality. Cores are the hard part to source so it will be a blessing to have another source of supply. Mr Boettcher please don't pass judgement on a product that you have never used when it seems like you have an ax to grind with someone. Re: who else is making custom carbon fiber grips ??

Hay don't get me wrong Batson is the top of the line in rod parts - quality and service
But when I started reading about the cores builders were using the 4 -6 lb from Riley and was wondering if the 18lb were heaver then them DON"T put words in my mouth and CHANGE things I say And I am no expert on building them - just using common sense Bill - willierods.com Edited 1 time(s).
