Looking for a new 6'6" Med-lite spinning blank for walleye and some crappie fishing. Use most 6# mono on this one. I like quite a few of the 7'0" popping blanks, but would be nice to find on that does not need to be cut down.
Any recommendations? Thanks - Marc Keep it simple - that's all I can handle! Re: Favorite 6'6" Med-Lite Spinning Blank

Marc, from reading your past posts I've seen you mention the Pac Bay Quickline series of blanks many times. I don't have to tell you how good they are. The QLSJ782 is an awesome blank. I built two spinning rods on that blank last year that I use for drop shots and shaky heads for bass. I use 8# fluorocarbon and can feel an 1/8 oz shaky head in 15' of water with ease.
The back bone of the blank is surprisingly good for a medium light rated blank. I love those rods! Re: Favorite 6'6" Med-Lite Spinning Blank

They are very nice - the only thing is the 782 is more a medium than medium lite to me. Even the 781 has a lot of power, and feels more medium than med-lite to me. Thanks - Marc Keep it simple - that's all I can handle! Re: Favorite 6'6" Med-Lite Spinning Blank

I'm an avid crappie and bluegill fisherman. I have built quite a few of the MHX s781 series rod blanks. These rods are rated at 2-6 # and I will say they can definitely handle more. That being said, I have never had any issues with the MHX rods I have built. I have built close to 50 of the MHX rods and no issues yet. I have even gone up to the next level which is the 4-8# for river wading. Great rods. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
