I just got a call form a client saying that the red anodized checks on a 3 yr old rod are starting to fade and look pink . Has anyone else heard of this? These are common parts from a reputable supplier. Thanks Re: Anodized parts fading?

As roger said, it does happen, especially for parts left exposed to UV (i.e., not keeping rod in bag/tube). Red seems very susceptible. I have several anodized parts that have faded over time, and not only rod parts. That being said, there are certainly different levels of anodizing, and quality can vary. Re: Anodized parts fading?

There is another type of anodizing, commonly called "architectural" anodizing. It is essentially the same as Type II anodizing above, but uses metallic ion dying which is completely colorfast in sunlight. </quote> Don Becker Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
