I have two bamboo fly rods given to me that as far as I can determine were built in the 80's by a local guy. They are 7' 4pc with snake guides and a metal DF stripper. each has 3 spare tip sections and one has a spare second section. They have TN grips with slip rings and are labeled as Mtn Pack Fly/Spin 5-8wt. and the name "Brian Monroe" CCS put the ERN at 4.8 and the AA 55*. The finish is good and I don't see any twists. I'm looking for some idea what they might be worth on the open market. I don't think they are antique or collectable, just nice little rods. I've looked at @#$%& and see $65-$100 completed sales. Any ideas or input greatly appreciated. Re: Bamboo Experts?

They may be good rods, but the value will have a lot to do with the reputation of the maker.

Visit ClassicFlyrodForum.com.
If you join, there is a section to get appraisals. My gut feeling is you will be disappointed with what you find out. Maybe a few hundred dollars. I have tried to sell a few rods there. It is a good place, but no fee. There are a lot of knowledgeable people there but they are looking for a bargain unless it is by a well known maker, like Winston. Your best bet is to use them and enjoy them. Bill Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/19/2016 07:26PM by Bill Emshoff. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
