Anyone aware of a source of multi tinted acrylic block in dimensions suitable for turning to build grips(handles) for spin/cast and fly builds ?? I want swirls like you'll find in acrylic blanks for turning pens
Thanks

Hello Harry,
You might try Woodturningz.com. They sell spindles of acrylic esters that are 1.5 by 12 inches in a variety of colors. I bought one they called abalone, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I have used their smaller spindles for reel seat inserts and they turn rather well. I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Mike Blomme

You can make them yourself if you want. Go to a craft store like Michaels and get a 32oz can of casting resin, catalyst and Pearl Ex powdered pigments. You can create many different color combinations. I use various dimensions of PVC for molds. Here's an example of what is possible. [www.rodbuilding.org]

Thanks,
