Going to the expo which surf blank would be best for me to check out?

Looking for a surf blank 11 to 12 foot for using 5 to 7 ounce sinker plus bait for obx drum around Duck area .

Right now I have an Allstar 1266 for light bait or throwing metals so I need another rod to handle more weight when those ideal drum fishing north winds create a strong current.

Right now I am considering Seeker 2 peice surf ssu105 which is rated 4-8 ounces but at 10.5 ft so I would want to extend it.

Or Seeker ssu120 which is 12 foot but is only rated 3-6 ounces.Could I trim it down just a little to be able to have the sweet spot weight higher?

Also looking at MHX Euro Catfish rod blank that is 11 foot and 4-10 ounce range.

Thanks for your help

But I may need to request some of these blanks to be brought to the expo.

I am excited to go as this is my first time to the expo.

Rainshadow su1418f is an old favorite on the banks that meets your spec

I will check out the new Batson too.

How does the 1418 compare to the 1386?

I have both IMHO 1418 will throw a little farther, Both very good Blanks,I have caught a lot of Large Stripers on both (20-40+#)

I have built on both, for your app I think the 1418 is a better choice, maybe a tad heavier but a nice slightly slower action that keeps bait on the hook. fwiw that is usually the first rod/ most used rod, out of my rack. considered a "light heaver" by many it is still a very easy rod to cast.

Thanks for the help!

Not too worried about rod weight as this will be used mainly for bait and wait.
