Hey Every one! Again thanks for all the help Esp from Tom Kirkman. Im restoring a bamboo rod . I have Identified the rod As a Horracks- Ibboston Tonka Queen. Actually the only writing left on the rod is the white "Tonka Queen" the H-I decals are gone. My question is what info if any should I inscribe on the rod? Should I put the H-I name and wt or what is normaly done? Im redoing the rod with a new seat and guides the grip is the original and I am going to wrap in the original colors. Gold wraps with dark brown trim. The rod belonged to my Father in law who passed away so I was thinking putting his name somewhere on the blank? Just dont know whats proper for a refurbish bamboo project. Happy wrapping "John" Re: Inscription on old bamboo rod

Anything you do or put on there that deviates from original will diminish the monetary value of the rod, whatever that might be, to a collector. But it sounds as if you are more interested in just fixing up an old rod for your dad. That's fine. I'd put as much of the original nomenclature back on the rod as possible, in the same location and as close to the original style as I could. Maybe put your dad's name up a bit from there, or have it inscribed on the butt cap/plug. Just some ideas. .................................. Re: Inscription on old bamboo rod
