Long-Term Grip Effects

While reaming the center of a custom-made burl grip for a fly rod, I made the hole a few millimeters too large on the end near the reel seat. To correct the problem, I wrapped some dry wall tape onto the rod to fill the gap. The grip is now glued to the rod and it feels fine. However, can anyone tell me what kind of long-term effects I can expect to result from this? Thanks. Re: Long-Term Grip Effects

As long as you attained a good bond between components (cork, tape, and blank) you should not have any troubles. the outside of the cork will go before the rest. Re: Long-Term Grip Effects

A little better way is to use thread as the arbor if it is just a small gap, offers better bonding Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
