Marnie,
While there are a lot of extremely talented builders on the West Coast I'm don't currently know of any Gatherings or Shows in that neck of the woods scheduled for this year. It sounds like you need to schedule a trip to either the ICRBE or one of the NERBS Gatherings.

Todd

Marnie -

You can't go wrong attending a NERBS gathering. I've attended a few and I can't explain how much information you walk away with. You will learn more in one day than reading all the books and watching videos on youtube. Billy is by far the most advanced rod builder I know - he is a true "custom" rod builder! First thing I would do is purchase his book (if you haven't already) and read it a few times. The most important information is in the first 12 pages so its pretty easy reading. Go to the NERBS website and check it out.

Good Luck

Neil

Attending a NERBS deal would be the best, but another option: if you're comfortable working with software on your pc, then you should buy Billy's book, and then a copy of Viswrap software from him. You can put the software into single thread mode, and see any wrap in the archives from first thread to last, one at a time. Invaluable.
