I'm new to the board and somewhat new to the Rod making bussiness.

I recently made 2 rods for a customer. Both are identical and made from St. Croix blanks.

They both about 2 feet from the tip this weekend.

Both broke while fighting fish, nothing huge, but big fish. I believe that it was a manufacturing problem.

What kind of help can I get from the Blank manufacturer? If they replace the blank, what about the handles, guides and my time, or am I out on these?

Do I contact St. Croix or the place I purchased the blanks from?

I'm pretty sure that you will want to return them to St.Croix. They will determine if the blanks were defective and if so they will replace the blank for just a shipping charge. If the blanks weren't defective, and breaking them on a fish is no proof they were defective, I would think they'd sell you replacments at a reduced fee.

When you get the new blanks the old ones will be returned and you can swap over the guides. You will probably have to build new handles as the old ones may be impossible to remove. This always stinks but it is just part of rod building.

I'd check with St. Croix, but this is the way every blank I have ever returned has been handled no matter which company it was.

is right you have to return them to the plant.
I had one that I built bust also.
they got it back to me in 10 days they also sent a new handle.
they will send the old ones back ,so you can use the old guides

I have a St. Croix Pro Graphite Series rod that is all graphite. I was fishing in cold temperature aproximately 25 degrees for trout, caught trout and was reaching down to pick up fish when my rod snapped about 3 inches above where the top of the rod goes into the bottom half. There was no excess strain on the rod. This has never happened before and was no fault of mine that I can tell. Could the cold temperature have something to do with the rod breaking? Could you please tell me who to contact to have this replaced or repaired. Rod was bought at Douglas Sporting Goods in Princeton, WV.
