Gudebrod 811 c.p. ?

I bought a bottle of Gudebrod 811 color preserver last year. The bottle looked different, it was all white instead of red, black and yellow. I just opened it up to use it and was suprised to find that it was white like Flex Coat C P instead of clear like the others that I had before. What's up with that? Did they change it, or is something wrong with what I got? I really liked the clear. If I wanted the white stuff I would have just used the Flex Coat that I already had.

Tim,
They have changed it. I tried it and have switched to Lamar's Chroma Seal. I have also used U-40 Color Lock as well. I haven't tried Cason's new CP yet.

The original Gudebrod 811 formula is no longer available the product has changed.

Cason Crystal Clear CP (solvent based forumula) is similar to the old Gudebrod 811 CP and Swampland carries it.

Gudebrod's solvent based formula was phased out in the mid 1980's. Their 811 was originally an acrylic urethane water based type CP and was moved to a different formula just a few years ago.

I had tons of issues with the new formula. It ruined a butt wrap buy drying very cloudy. All my issues were resolved however by depositing it in the trash.

Cason Crystal Clear. is a great product. It has fantastic penetration all the way to the blank. It does not set on top

Thanks for your response guys. I bought the new bottle in December and just opened it a few nights ago. The bottle of clear 811 I was probably using for at least 2 years and I really liked it. I use the white CP like Flex Coat when I'm doing a wrap that I want to end up darker than the thread color to match the other wraps. I never heard of the Carsons Crystal Clear, but it sounds like something I want to try.
