is there a big difference in rod finishes.
I use to use flex coat.I found that the working time is not that long berfore it hardens up.

I like the classic coat i think you get a better finish in terms of looks.
Also the working time is much greater than flex coat.
any sugestions would be greatly appreaciated.

Capt. Gary,
The hot new finish right now is U40 LS Supreme by Trondak. Crystal clear, levels well, releases bubbles without heat. Pot life can be as much as 45 minutes. Do a search on this board on LS Supreme and you'll have all the information you could possibly want. Works best if you use multiple thin coats, particularly the first coat.
Good luck,
Lynn

All the epoxy rod finishes on the market work very well and give outstanding results, that once done you cannot tell the difference between. But it is true that the LS Supreme from Trondak has an unusually long working time which makes it easier for many builders to work with.

One thing that is important to keep in mind is that each particular finish may require a slightly different application technique for best results. If you are having problems with any of the finishes, you may have to either switch finishes to find one that responds better to your personal application method, or adjust your application method to better correspond to what the particular finish requires.
