Does anyone on here know what the difference between the Pacific Bay TRF and IGF were? I tried sending and email to Pac Bay directly and could not get an answer. Thanks.

Give them until Monday or so - they may not be around on the weekend.

If I had a new catalog I'd look it up for you. I assume you looked at their website? Not sure if it lists the differences there or not.

I've been a PB Distributor for a couple of years and those prefixes aren't ringing any bells. They're not in the current price sheet either. Is this older stuff you're looking for info on?

Yes, they are both an older series of rods. I would guess they were around maybe 6 to 10 years ago. I did email Pac Bay and the person that got back to me didn't have a clue.

i have a bunch of both! The TRF isn't as old as the IGF. Both are IM6 material made in the USA buy either Talon or All star. It's easy to tell which blank was made where buy looking at the blank. The Talons had the # scratched into the blank on the butt most of the time and came in green and red. The All Stars were mostly flat black and or had a sticker with #on the butt. I would say the IGF is late 90's and the TRF is from around 2001. These are great blanks and very underrated and nice quality. I have gotten a few Pacbay surf blanks that had All Star Outdoor Products stickers on the butts as well.
All in all i really can't tell the difference between TRF and IGF the difference only seems to be the blank designation!

John, thanks for the info. I have a few of both series and I could not really tell the difference, especially in fishing them. I had figured that they were IM6 and American made, but wanted to be sure. I totally agree that they are underrated. Too bad Pac Bay didn't keep them around. Oh well, like the good Americans we are, we love to outsource stuff to China! Thanks again.
